Benefits of Apptive dispatcher control
Apptive RTU Unit
The main component of the dispatcher control system is our Apptive RTU unit, which provides all information processing, evaluation, and the sending of control commands.
The unit can be purchased as part of the complete dispatcher control solution, or as a standalone product.
Apptive RTU includes its own user interface for configuration, and extended features for monitoring, evaluation, and automation can also be enabled.
Turnkey dispatcher control
We deliver a complete dispatcher control solution as a whole—from design to commissioning.
The delivery includes the RTU unit with the required hardware and communication interfaces. We also design and manufacture a custom control cabinet according to the project and the requirements of the distribution operator and the plant technology.
We then perform on-site assembly and installation, including wiring of measurements, status signals, and control outputs. We take care of integration into a higher-level system and the setup of regulation logic (e.g., P/Q/U) according to the agreed scenario.
Before handover, we carry out functional tests, verify communication with the distribution operator, and check correct responses to commands and signals (including ripple control/HDO).
After commissioning, we provide remote monitoring and support to ensure long-term stable operation in line with operational requirements.
Monitoring Center
The solution includes our Monitoring Center in the form of a web application that allows you to clearly monitor the operation of a photovoltaic power plant from anywhere.
In the application, you can view current and historical information about power output and generation, including other important operational parameters. From a single place, it is also possible to securely control power curtailment and monitor the status of regulation.
Spot prices and related data are also available for better real-time decision-making. The system additionally allows you to set automation instructions—for example, control rules based on price, time, output, or grid requirements. This makes it possible to optimize plant operation while keeping all key information and control actions under supervision.
Apptive RTU unit functions
Measurement at the point of connection (and at a downstream split point)
We provide measurement of key electrical quantities at the grid connection point as well as at other defined points in the technology. Typically: P / Q / U / I (and additional values as required by the project).
Collection of status signals from technology downstream of the connection point
The unit can collect and evaluate indications and device states on the plant side (e.g., equipment status, fault/status contacts, operating modes, etc.).
Communication with the distribution operator: data reporting + receiving regulation commands
We provide an interface for sending the required measured values and receiving regulation commands (e.g., changes to active power or reactive component) according to the distribution operator’s rules.
Ripple control (HDO) support (signal reception and use for control)
The RTU can receive ripple control (HDO) signals and use them as an input for operating logic, regulation, or evaluation of plant behavior against grid requirements.
Active power regulation (P) via “wired” step control
For power control, we support step switching as required (typically 0–30–60–100%), including linkage to distribution operator commands or internal logic.
Reactive power / voltage regulation (Q/U) via “wired” step switching
We also enable step-based Q or U regulation via wired control to meet the specific regulation scheme required by the distribution operator.
Evaluation of the resulting regulation (including data from the distribution operator and HDO)
This includes verification and analysis of regulation performance: comparison of the requested setpoint with the plant’s real response and evaluation based on available data (e.g., from the distribution operator and HDO).
Communication interfaces and protocols (with optional extensions)
We support common standards such as Modbus TCP/IP, RS485 (Modbus RTU), and MQTT; additional protocols or specific interfaces can be added based on the project.
Monitoring and remote administration
We provide monitoring, diagnostics, and remote administration of the unit. Remote configuration and function changes are supported, simplifying service, logic adjustments, and responses to new requirements.
